The NBA’s offseason is an important time of year for all 30 teams. In the summer, organizations assess their team and make decisions accordingly.
With that said, it’s a more pivotal time for some teams than others.
For example, the winners of the NBA title don’t have to do much. Mainly, they’re trying to keep their roster together. By contrast, teams that underperformed have to have successful summers.
Take the Dallas Mavericks. This is as important of an offseason for them as one could imagine.
The Mavs’ first priority is to retain Kyrie Irving. Assuming that they’re able to do so, the next move should be to improve the defense around their star backcourt.
