Mavs Add Needed Wing in OG Anunoby

Toronto Raptors Receive: F Davis Bertans, G/F Josh Green, 2023 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2027 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2030 First-Round Pick (Swap – DAL) 

Dallas Mavericks Receive: F OG Anunoby 

Sometimes, you can just see both sides of an argument. Landing Jarrett Allen to anchor their defense would be a sensible decision.

On the other hand, so would simply acquiring the best defensive players they can – regardless of position. 

This deal has the Dallas Mavericks taking the latter route. Anunoby is one of the best defensive wings in the NBA. He’d fix this defense as much as anyone in the league could. 

He wouldn’t hurt the offense, either. Anunoby, if nothing else, is a reliable floor spacer. If he has an offensive jump left in his career, this could be a steal for Dallas.

If the Raptors are willing to part with Anunoby, that is. If not, the Mavs may have to look elsewhere.
