Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal
Sengun may have defensive limitations. He still has star potential. In fact, plenty of people have compared him to Domantas Sabonis. He’s been integral to an outstanding season for the Sacramento Kings.
Realistically, Sengun’s value will be in the eye of the beholder. If the Raptors like him, they should pounce on this deal. After all, Sengun isn’t the only valuable asset they’re receiving here.
The Raptors are also landing two unprotected first-round picks. All told this could be a quality deal for Toronto if they’re looking to rebuild. They’ll still need a point guard, but they’ll at least have a head start.
Given the Raptors already have fired Nick Nurse, it seems logical to assume that major changes will be on the horizon for them in the offseason. However, it remains to be seen how drastic of changes the franchise will choose to undergo.

The Raptors could form an intriguing duo by pairing Scottie Barnes with Sengun. Both players’ strengths could enhance one another, and it doesn’t hurt that they are each signed to rookie contracts at the moment.
