Why The Indiana Pacers Do The Deal 

Let’s be realistic. Acquiring Draymond Green probably won’t lead to a Pacers championship next season. 

This team is too far away. Still, the goal here isn’t to build a title team for next year. It’s to help the Pacers accelerate their rebuild. 

From that perspective, acquiring Green would be useful. He remains one of the best defensive players in the NBA. Green and Myles Turner would make for a potentially dominant pairing on that end of the floor. 

More broadly, Green has the championship experience this team is lacking. Acquiring him ought to have positive developmental effects.
