Why The New Orleans Pelicans Do The Deal
The Pelicans were a bit of a confusing team this season.
A look at their roster could lead anyone to make wrong assumptions. This should have been an elite offensive team that struggled on defense. Instead, the opposite was true.
We’re going to chalk that up to Zion Williamson’s bouts of absence. He was supposed to carry this offense, and frankly, he’s a negative defender as well.
With that in mind, the Pelicans should plan under the assumption that he’ll be more available next season. Otherwise, they’ll likely lose their season anyway.
