Why The Minnesota Timberwolves Do The Deal 

This is truly an unfortunate situation for the Timberwolves. 

It doesn’t seem like Gobert is working. They already struggled throughout the year. Down the stretch, the wheels are falling off. Gobert doesn’t seem to get along with the rest of this group. 

If that’s true, the Wolves have a distressed asset on their hands. Gobert is aging and on a huge contract. This isn’t his first time alienating a locker room, either. 

With that in mind, this is a solid return if you’re willing to overlook the price Minnesota paid for him. Nance Jr. is a great defender who can still minimize some of Karl-Anthony Towns’ warts.
