We know. This really doesn’t look good for Dallas.
Lowry is damaged goods. Oladpio probably is too. In the aggregate, moving Dorrian Finney-Smith and an unprotected first-round pick for either of these packages is suboptimal.
That’s exactly why the Mavericks will work to retain Irving as a free agent. With that said, they simply may not be able to. If Irving insists on departing, there’s little Dallas can do.
With that in mind, Lowry can still shoot. Meanwhile, Caleb Martin is a very useful 3-and-D wing.

On the other hand, if the Mavericks insist on moving Irving for one, highly impactful player, they may have an option.
It’s not necessarily a pretty one.
