In fact, the Nets already roster a pretty complicated player. 

It wasn’t always this way for Ben Simmons. At the beginning of his career, it all seemed pretty simple. Simmons couldn’t shoot, but he was going to be one of the best players in the NBA anyway. 

Somewhere along the line, he started to deteriorate. Some will suggest that mental qualities have rendered him passive. Others will say that his body is failing him. For whatever reason, Simmons is now out of Brooklyn’s rotation entirely. 

In some respects, he’s the inverse of Towns. These guys were both picked first overall, and they both flashed plenty of potential to justify those selections.
