Some say that the NBA is an arm’s race as much as anything else. 

These days, that holds particularly true. When a star player becomes available, the team with the most assets is likely to land him.

In the modern league, teams regularly look to receive as much draft capital as possible in return for their stars. 

With that in mind, the Oklahoma City Thunder are sitting pretty. This team has by far the most draft capital in history. 

They may even have too much to use. Eventually, the Thunder will have to consolidate their assets. This team won’t be able to roster as many first-round picks as they’re supposed to have coming in.
