Well, let’s look at each player. Murray is a ball-handling guard. He’s not a great shooter, but he’s one of the best point-of-attack defenders in the NBA.
By contrast, Towns is one of the best shooting big men in NBA history. He’s also a poor defender. See what we’re getting at here?
Simply put, the two have more complementary skill sets. Towns makes up for Murray’s shortcomings, and vice versa.
