As a general rule, we can’t reverse the course of history. With that said, NBA teams have a unique ability to do so.

Who’s to say that we should, even if we could? In all likelihood, you’ve heard of the butterfly effect. Essentially, it’s a theory that holds that any changes you might make to history could have unexpected consequences. 

If they make a mistake, they can correct it – as long as they can find another team who’s also looking to correct a mistake. 

For example, perhaps the Atlanta Hawks should have traded for Rudy Gobert instead of Dejounte Murray this summer.

Ironically, the Timberwolves may have been better off trading for Murray instead of Gobert.
