Why The Minnesota Timberwolves Do The Deal
There are a couple of reasons why Towns and Gobert are not a good match.
Offensively, when they share the floor with the Wolves, they force them to play slow whenever they are sharing the court. This pairing forces Towns to guard the perimeter, which has so far seemed to be a recipe for disaster from a defensive perspective.
As a result of this deal, both concerns would be alleviated. As a player with an uptempo style, Brown will be able to complement Anthony Edwards well. On the defensive end, he would join Gobert and Jaden McDaniels in making an impressive frontcourt with him.
There is no doubt that it is a gamble. There is a possibility that Brown will leave the Wolves in free agency, and they traded Gobert for nothing in exchange for him.
