The Lakers may not be thrilled to land Lowry honestly. On the other hand, that may be the best they can do.
Unless they’re willing to offload some draft capital, that is. That’s a benefit of this deal for the Lakers – it’s a means to upgrade their roster without surrendering assets.
Lowry may actually improve them, too. For what it’s worth, Lowry still has off-ball gravity. Perhaps more importantly, he’s still a heady player who makes good decisions.
Playing alongside James may help him, too. Generally speaking, that’s been a benefit for guards. His ability to make plays should get Lowry open looks more regularly.
