The Heat acquire 5 players in this deal. They may not use any of them. 

On the other hand, they may find a use for Beverley. This is a savvy veteran who won’t make mistakes. Meanwhile, he retains his defensive intensity – even if it doesn’t make the same impact. 

Meanwhile, even reuniting with Nunn could prove useful. He’s a capable reserve scorer. Still, this deal has little to do with incoming players for Miami at all. 

They’re mostly doing it to get off of Lowry’s contract. He’s been underwhelming in 2022-23, and he’s still got time remaining on his deal.
