Why The Philadelphia 76ers Do The Deal

If this deal is on the table, the Sixers should take it. It’s a no-brainer.

It should make them better in 2022-23. Crowder isn’t as prolific a shot-creator as Harris, but he’s a much better defender and a roughly comparable floor-spacer.

Given that Harden, Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey play on this team, that defensive edge is worth the trade-off in shot creation.

Meanwhile, Bullock could still be a rotation player here. He remains a solid defender – if he starts knocking the three-ball down, he’ll resume his career-long status as a quality wing.

On top of all that, this deal has Philly getting a protected first-rounder for forfeiting the best player in the deal. This roster improves their fit while netting them an asset.

If all goes well, it could have them looking like a contender instead of a pretender.
