Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal
Frankly, Kuzma is probably the best player in this deal.
That’s certainly true on offense. Kuzma’s superior athleticism allows him to score in transition more frequently than any of the players the Suns are losing here. It allows him to get to the basket in halfcourt sets more easily, too.
On the flip side, he may be the weakest defender in this bunch. That’s fine. He’s still a solid defensive player. In other words, he should be worth the trade-off.
Perhaps most importantly, the Suns are effectively adding him for the price of Craig here. After all, Crowder isn’t playing for them anyway.

At this point, any value they can get for him would be good – Kuzma far exceeds that standard.
