Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal
The Wizards may be losing this deal. At the same time, they’re getting two rotation players for the price of one.
Moreover, they may be better fits. After all, this Wizards offense runs through Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis. With Porzingis looking like his former self, they may not need Kuzma’s shot creation.
At least, not as much as they need Crowder’s perimeter defense. For that matter, Craig is a solid 3-and-D wing in his own right. This deal improves Washington’s depth and bigs in more complimentary players.
Finally, the Wizards can actually give Crowder the starting spot he covets. With him guarding the point of attack, and Porzingis in drop coverage, the Wizards could have elite frontcourt defense with five-out spacing.
