Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal

By contrast, this is not the same type of no-brainer for the Nets.

We already mentioned the incentive to remain relevant. This deal does not help that cause. For them to be interested in it, they’d have to see a lot in the incoming pieces hee.

With that said, they might! Jonathan Kuminga has particular upside. He’s struggled so far in Golden State, but he may do better in a low-pressure environment. Meanwhile, Moody has already looked the part of a solid role player when he has found time with them.

On the other hand, plenty are out on Wiseman. Still, even if he doesn’t pan out, and Kuminga and Moody reach their potential, this could look like a solid return for the Nets in hindsight.
