Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal 

Once again, it’s hard to know what the Knicks are hoping to accomplish this season. 

Last year, they won 34 games. That was a massive disappointment in light of their 2020-21 playoff appearance. With that said, this team’s management may feel that last year was an anomaly.

After all, they just signed Jalen Brunson to a significant deal. The Knicks don’t appear to have an interest in “tanking”. As long as that’s true, they might as well go about adding quality players. 

Harrison Barnes is one of those. As of now, one would envision him slotting in at the 3 spot, bumping RJ Barrett down to the shooting guard position. Still, Barnes is among the most malleable players in the NBA – he can play with anyone.
