Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Duncan Robinson, 2023 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA)
Miami Heat Receive: C Myles Turner
Of course, with the evolution of the big man has come an evolution in how we value them.
Big men who can’t shoot or defend guards/wings do not generally make big bucks in 2022. There are, as always, exceptions.
Rudy Gobert is paid handsomely, but he’s the absolute best rim protector in the NBA. For the most part, drop coverage specialists earn on the lower end of the NBA’s potential salaries.
Myles Turner can shoot. He’s also an elite rim protector. With that said, he hasn’t demonstrated an exceptional ability to switch defensively. Without any real ball-handling or playmaking skills, that caps his value – albeit, at a high price.

With that said, it’s a bit difficult to gauge his trade value. He’s certainly worth a first-round pick. Is he worth two? It’s a matter of debate. With that said, if a team is sending out a bad contract in order to acquire him, that changes the calculus.
Should the Pacers really be absorbing Duncan Robinson’s deal?
