Of course, the implosion of the Nets wasn’t the only highly anticipated event of this NBA offseason. The Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz also dominated the headlines. 

The Jazz, so far, have actually made good on those rumors. They moved Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Donovan Mitchell to the Los Angeles Clippers. Now, they’re sitting on a treasure trove of valuable NBA veterans. 

Alternatively, the Lakers have mostly kept it quiet this summer. Yes, they did acquire Patrick Beverley (ironically, from the Jazz), but the much-anticipated Russell Westbrook trade has not yet come to fruition. 

It still could. In fact, it wouldn’t be shocking if we wrote this article today, only for Westbrook to be an Indiana Pacer tomorrow.
