Floor raisers are generally the NBA’s star players. These are guys that assure your team a winning season as long as they suit up. On the other hand, ceiling raisers take your squad to the next level – these are the role players who enhance the play of those same stars.
Duarte is likely a floor raiser. Sure, he’s got an element of shot creation in his game, but for the most part, he projects primarily as a floor spacer. That’s perfect for the Spurs. As currently constructed, they’re made almost entirely up of floor raisers.
Keldon Johnson has some star potential, but if he’s more of a utility player that shouldn’t come as a shock either. The same goes for Devin Vassell, although that star potential is a bit lesser. Incoming rookie Jeremy Sochan projects as a defensive specialist.
