Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns went big game hunting this offseason on the trade block. They were the rumored favorites to land Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets, but those plans went awry when they matched the offer sheet that Deandre Ayton signed with the Indiana Pacers.
Durant has since rescinded his trade request and will be continuing his partnership with the Nets. But, that doesn’t mean Phoenix should stop pursuing players on the trade market. They haven’t done much to change their team this offseason and sitting idly could be a detriment to the team.
While they had the best record in the NBA last season, there are some areas for improvement. Bench production wasn’t always the best and they could certainly use some more shot creation in the rotation. Bojan Bogdanovic would help in both areas.
A lot of the trade rumors that the Phoenix Suns have been involved in have included Cam Johnson, the next player up for an extension on the team. Phoenix should do everything they can to hold onto him while making at least incremental improvements to the team. That is what makes Bogdanovic a logical target.

Johnson, entering his fourth season in the NBA and final year on his rookie contract, is already 26 years old. He likely doesn’t fit the timeline that Utah is now on as they enter their rebuild. A draft pick and salary filler would likely get the job done for Bogdanovic, who is on an expiring contract.
While not the defender that Jae Crowder is, Bogdanovic can at least hold his own on that end of the court. Where he would help the Phoenix Suns the most is with his scoring, as he can create some of his own offense.

Bogdanovic is also a much more consistent 3-point shooter than Crowder, providing Chris Paul and Devin Booker with a more dangerous threat alongside them in the lineup.
