Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers came into the offseason looking to rebuild the roster around Damian Lillard. After Lillard underwent surgery last season on his abdomen, the team bottomed out as much as they could.
It resulted in them landing the No. 8 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, which they used on Shaedon Sharpe out of Kentucky. Before the draft, they acquired Jerami Grant from the Detroit Pistons for a future first-round pick.
That was a good start to the offseason and they continued upgrading in free agency. Gary Payton II was signed away from the Golden State Warriors to bolster the team’s defense. Jusuf Nurkic and Anfernee Simons were also re-signed.
While Portland has improved, there is still plenty of work left to do. It would behoove them to add some more depth on the wing and Bojan Bogdanovic would be a good target for them. Bogdanovic would feast on 3-point shots created by Lillard, providing some secondary scoring behind him and Grant on the wing.

Big enough to handle either forward spot, Bogdanovic would also bring some versatility to the Portland Trail Blazers’ rotation. He and Grant could share the frontcourt in a small-ball alignment, or he can play small forward when they use a traditional center.
Even if you count Josh Hart as a small forward, this is a team that needs help on the wing. Bogdanovic shouldn’t be too costly and would help improve the team’s floor heading into the 2022-23 campaign.
