Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Brooklyn Nets
Let’s start off by taking a closer look at the deal from the Nets’ perspective.
As briefly mentioned, this would be far from a rebuild for Brooklyn. Brown is already known as a rising superstar and is more than capable of handling the No. 1 offensive option role. He would replace Durant immediately and would be a much better piece to build around long-term with a much better attitude as well.
Kyrie Irving could still stay in town as well, although no one knows how the fit would be with his former teammates from Boston.
If Irving does stay though, the Nets would have a great superstar duo to build around still. Add in the wild card in all of this in Ben Simmons, and Brooklyn could still be a top contender in the East.

Being able to acquire two more quality role players in Grant Williams and Derrick White is a big win. If the Nets still want to compete with their new-look roster, both of those guys would help them accomplish that goal. Throw in two first-round picks and this trade looks even better.
Granted, giving up Kevin Durant is still a tough thing to do. However, if he is adamant about wanting out, this kind of trade package would make a ton of sense for the Nets.
