Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal
It’s hard to believe, but the most valuable piece the Los Angeles Lakers are receiving here may be Caleb Martin.
The French wing has quietly emerged as one of the better 3-and-D wings in the NBA. He may have the least name recognition in this article, but by 2022, he may have the most on-court impact as well.
Of course, the Lakers will be hoping that Lowry’s 2021-22 postseason was a blip on his radar. For what it’s worth, Lowry projects as a much better fit alongside LeBron James than Westbrook ever could be. If nothing else, he’ll continue to space the floor and defend with gusto.
Finally, the Lakers may find a use for Duncan Robinson. He’s still an elite floor spacer, even if he’s a subpar defender. James does have a way of maximizing three-point shooters, deficiencies and all.
