Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Kyle Lowry, G/F Duncan Robinson, G/F Caleb Martin
Miami Heat Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL)
After reading through this proposal, you can probably see why we opened with the bit about bad contracts.
If Kyle Lowry’s 2021-22 playoff performance is his new baseline, he’s on one. At 36, there’s every reason to fear that possibility. He’ll be making $28.3 million in each of the next two seasons – he’ll need to average more than 6 points and 4 assists.
Duncan Robinson’s pact is unlikely to age well either. He’s on the hook for less, but also for longer, at $16.9 million through to 2026. Still, that’s a lot to fork out for a player the Heat deemed unplayable in the 2021-22 playoffs.
Still, Russell Westbrook’s $47.0 million obviously takes the cake here.

With that said, at least it’s expiring. The least tradeable contract in the league suddenly becomes tradeable when it only has a year left on it.
Should the Miami Heat be the team to take it on?
