Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets are putting together an impressive group of young, high-upside players that will hopefully develop into a core that can challenge in the Western Conference. They could become buyers next summer if they start showing some of those capabilities during the 2022-23 season.
Houston will have a ton of cap space to spend next offseason, and that is before moving on from Eric Gordon’s partially-guaranteed contract. The Houston Rockets could easily clear enough cap space to offer two max contracts in 2023.
There is a good chance they will not take that route, as they will have to consider paying their young players sooner rather than later. However, adding a veteran presence such as Draymond Green for a young team could help them elevate their performance.
Green’s playmaking ability is something all of the young players would benefit from. Kevin Porter Jr. has been okay transitioning to the position since being acquired, but Green is on another level when it comes to setting up teammates for easy baskets.

Defensively the Houston Rockets could also use some help and Green would be of great help on that end of the court as well. Essentially, all of the strengths that Green brings to the table could be considered weaknesses for the Rockets.
If the Warriors hesitate on giving Green the max, there are teams that will have money to blow, such as the Houston Rockets, that could extend him the kind of offer that he is looking for.
