Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets need to continue remodeling the depth at their center position. They selected Mark Williams No. 15 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, but his game is not yet conducive to the NBA.
Centers usually take the most time adjusting to the NBA and Williams likely won’t be any different. He doesn’t have much of a perimeter game, which he will have to develop to earn big rotation minutes.
Until then, the Charlotte Hornets would be smart deploying him in lineups that can play to his strengths. If the team needs a little more of an offensive punch at the center spot, DeMarcus Cousins could fit the bill.
Cousins would be a solid complement to Williams, especially with the future of Miles Bridges being up in the air. Bridges was the team’s leading scorer and they are going to have to find that production from somewhere else. It will take a total team effort, and Cousins could certainly help chip in.

Given his ability to play on the perimeter, Cousins could find more playing time with the Charlotte Hornets than other teams as well. He could play some minutes alongside an interior-orientated big man, such as Williams if Steve Clifford wants to deploy some jumbo lineups.
