Toronto Raptors
Coming into the offseason, the Toronto Raptors needed to address their lack of size at the center position. While Nick Nurse did an excellent job game planning to overcome their issues, it certainly cost them in the postseason.
The Philadelphia 76ers took full advantage of the Raptors not having a traditional center to use, as they dominated on the interior. The fast-paced, switching defense that Nurse developed was rendered ineffective as they had no answer on the inside for Joel Embiid and company.
There have been a few rumors involving the Toronto Raptors potentially trading for a center, but nothing has come to fruition yet. But, they don’t seem to be in too big of a rush, as they did sign Otto Porter Jr., who fits the mold of the long, switchable players Nurse has been deploying.
If they want to make noise in the postseason, however, they are going to have to add some size to the mix. DeMarcus Cousins would be a solid low-cost move to address that need. Cousins has the size to compete in the paint, but he won’t require them to overhaul the offensive attack.

Cousins is comfortable on the perimeter, which is important to their game plan on offense. The Toronto Raptors have players on the court willing to shoot from 3-point range at all times, and Cousins is certainly capable of letting it fly and knocking down a few jumpers.
