Memphis Grizzlies
Brooklyn Nets Receive: F/C Jaren Jackson Jr., F/C Brandon Clarke, G/F Ziare Williams, 2023 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2025 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2027 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2029 First-Round Pick (MEM)
Memphis Grizzlies Receive: F Kevin Durant
This deal bears a close resemblance to the previous proposal. Frankly, it’s probably a little better.
It similarly finds the Nets landing an injury-prone, young, potential All-Defensive candidate in Jackson Jr. It also has them acquiring a hard-working, two-way young player in Clarke, and a high-upside, soon-to-be-sophomore in Williams.
If it’s a better deal, that’s because the Grizzlies have more draft capital to spare than the Bulls and it will take plenty to bring a superstar to Memphis. They’re not encumbered by the Stepien rule, which disallows teams from going back-to-back years without a first-round pick.
The Memphis Grizzlies have most of their picks moving forward. Furthermore, Jackson Jr. is a more proven commodity than Williams. He’s already shown real flashes of star potential when healthy.
LATEST NBA NEWS AND RUMORS: Kevin Durant Trade Market Remains Complex For Brooklyn Nets
Arguably, none of these deals are ideal for the Nets. That’s because having to trade Kevin Durant in the first isn’t ideal. If their hands remained tied, any one of these trades at least loosen the constraints.
