Washington Wizards Receive: F Kevin Durant
Recent reports have suggested that the Washington Wizards intend to make a bid for Durant.
On the one hand, that makes sense. Durant is a D.C. native who was actually linked to the Wizards during his last foray into free agency.
On the other hand, it feels a bit like an undergraduate student announcing that he intends to pursue a career as a surgeon – next week.
Only, the Wizards may have a fairly competitive offer here. Porzingis is not strictly a salary matcher. In fact, he’s exactly the type of stretch big who ought to maximize Ben Simmons. That matters for these Nets: with their picks owing to the Houston Rockets through to 2027, they have no incentive to bottom out.

With that said, this deal also restocks their draft cupboard a bit, landing them three first-round picks and two swaps. Couple that with the addition of two young, quality wings in Hachimura and Avdija, and who knows?
The Washington Wizards landing Durant may not be as crazy as it sounds.
