Sorry. We were just making understatements. The Lakers’ 2021-22 season was, by any measure, an abject disaster.
You’ve probably heard the details. Russell Westbrook couldn’t play with LeBron James. Anthony Davis couldn’t stay healthy. There are plenty of explanatory factors, but none answer the most important question: where do the Lakers go from here?
They’ll hope to move Westbrook for a co-star that suits James. It’ll be easier said than done. In the meantime, most would have them acquiring solid veterans to try to improve ahead of 2022-23.
