Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal
At 22, Cam Reddish still has time to grow into the player scouts saw in high school. With that said, the New York Knicks don’t seem to have much faith that he’ll do so.
Reddish joined the squad at last year’s trade deadline. From there, he saw his minutes gradually decline until they outright disappeared. Now, he might be on the move again.
The Knicks might have more patience for Horton-Tucker. After all, head coach Tom Thibodeau is notoriously defensive-minded. Horton-Tucker has performed better on that end of the floor than Reddish has thus far.
Furthermore, the Knicks are in a different position than the Lakers. With a surplus of draft capital and a young(ish), inexpensive core, they’re not operating with the same urgency. They could lend THT a role that’s more conducive to development.
