Chicago Bulls Receive: F Rui Hachimura
Washington Wizards Receive: G Coby White
The Washington Wizards were expected to pursue a point guard this summer. They’ve already landed one, having traded Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Will Barton and Monte Morris.
It was a good trade for both sides. Surely, Morris is an upgrade at the point guard spot compared to Smith. It still doesn’t feel like it solves all of Washington’s problems at the position.
On the other hand, a platoon of Coby White and Monte Morris feels like enough combined ability to make a 2022-23 playoff run.
In many ways, White and Hachimura have had similar NBA careers thus far. Both were lottery picks who have been fairly productive and shown flashes of a star ceiling. At the same time, neither have ultimately lived up to expectations in their brief careers so far.

A change of scenery could do either well. The Bulls are light on wings, and the Wizards could use a boost at the point guard position. This trade feels almost too logical to not happen this summer.
