Washington Wizards Receive: G Markelle Fultz

This deal is a little bolder than the others in this piece. Markelle Fultz is not a risk-free acquisition. With that said, it arguably does the most for the Washington Wizards’ ceiling as well.

Fultz instantly becomes the best point guard on this team. Granted, he hasn’t lived up to the expectations attached to a first overall pick. He’s still a dynamic playmaker with a high-end drive and dish game.

Meanwhile, the Magic have a logjam at his position. Cole Anthony had a mini-breakout season in 2021-22. Jalen Suggs struggled as a rookie, but given that the Magic spent the 5th overall pick on him in the last draft, they’re not likely to cut ties with him yet.

By the process of elimination, Fultz seems like the most likely trade candidate. If the Magic are interested in moving him, they’ll want draft capital. With the Kings all-in on 2022-23, they might be the perfect team to offer them one.
