The Golden State Warriors pride themselves in being “light years ahead”. Last season, many questioned whether they were playing a dangerous game in not consolidating their surplus of young players for another star. They answered those questions with an NBA title.
Still, the future is unclear for this team. Steph Curry is still producing at an elite level, but he is aging. Meanwhile, the ravishes of time have already worn on Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. They may not be in contention for the NBA title for much longer.
This deal at least extends their window by a season. In fact, they’d probably enter the year as championship favorites.
