Los Angeles Lakers
After a wildly disappointing 2021-22 season, the Lakers are in no position to worry about Oladipo’s decline. They need talent wherever they can get it.
After all, this team finished with 33 wins in the regular season. For a group featuring LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, that’s unacceptable. They need to do whatever they can to improve ahead of 2022-23.
Granted, many of their shortcomings related to fit. Westbrook’s poor floor-spacing made him a difficult match with James’ on-ball abilities. Oladipo does little to mitigate those concerns. His shooting has declined since that previously mentioned injury.
He won’t fix every issue this Lakers team has. On the other hand, in the proper role, he could fix some. Oladipo could carry the Lakers’ second unit for stretches while their stars rest.
