D’Angelo Russell
Of all the players we’ll list in this article, D’Angelo Russell may be the most difficult acquisition. His contract alone will force the Boston Celtics to part with a key player in return for him.
Furthermore, some will suggest that he’s not worth the cost. After all, the Timberwolves are heavily rumored to be making him available this summer. Surely, there’s a reason for that.
It might be his poor performance in the 2021-22 playoffs. D’Angelo Russell’s play fell dramatically short of expectations in the Wolves’ first-round matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. Still, dismissing him solely on those grounds would be a mistake.
After all, Russell remains a talented playmaker. In all likelihood, he’d find himself in a lower usage role than he’s accustomed to as a member of the Celtics. That new role might just suit him perfectly.
