Making the Case: Houston Rockets

Pascal Siakam is a very good NBA player and would help the Houston Rockets to speed up their timeline alongside Jalen Green and the prospect chosen with the No. 3 overall pick.

The difficult part about building an NBA team is finding star players. Siakam has already shown he is one of those talents and the Rockets would be wise to capitalize on adding him if they could.

The two-man game potential for Green playing with Siakam as opposed to Jae’Sean Tate would help the Rockets to take quite a few steps further as a team. The two can engage in ball screens, handoffs, and off-ball screening actions all while being daunting to contain in transition.

The Rockets are widely expected to use the No. 3 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft to select Paolo Banchero, who will likely be at his best slotting in at the four spot. There are some that feel the Oklahoma City Thunder could select him the pick before, though.

There are too many layers to sift through to speculate what specifically the Rockets could do with the No. 3 overall pick in this hypothetical situation. What matters most is they’d still have it.
