Making the Case: Toronto Raptors
Much of the rationale behind this NBA trade scenario for the Toronto Raptors would come down to their ultimate preference on which frontcourt player they want to trade.
If they want to build around Scottie Barnes and OG Anunoby, it would be best to gain value for Pascal Siakam in a trade while he’s coming off such a strong 2021-22 campaign.
For the sake of the exercise, let’s say this is the case.
Adding a stretch-five like Christian Wood would help to tie the unit together with Barnes and Anunoby in the unit. Meanwhile, Eric Gordon would be a strong combo guard fit.

The Raptors would receive Jae’Sean Tate, the No. 17 pick, and a future draft asset in addition to Wood and Gordon for additional value. Tate will be a free agent next offseason and can help to add an impact player off the bench.
