Miami Heat Receive: G Zach LaVine
Chicago Bulls Receive: G Kyle Lowry, G Tyler Herro, 2023 First-Round Pick (MIA)
This deal would come by way of sign-and-trade. If sunny South Beach appeals to Zach LaVine, this is something that could realistically happen this summer.
It feels like decent value for both sides. The Bulls receive the younger Herro and a first-round pick in exchange for their star player. If Herro continues to ascend and hits his ceiling, they could end up looking like the winners in this deal.
Having said that, the Heat should be happy to make this win-now move. They just made the Conference Finals: it’s time to push all-in. As of this moment, LaVine is a more impactful player than Herro. That’s all the Heat need to be concerned about.
It’s worth nothing that, after a brutal 2021-22 postseason performance, Lowry’s contract may be viewed as a net negative. That’s why the Bulls are getting a first-round pick here as well. All told, this trade ought to work for everybody.

Unless, of course, it doesn’t work for LaVine. As an unrestricted free agent, he’d have to sign off on this deal. If he’d prefer to land elsewhere, there may be another arrangement that works for both sides.
