Houston Rockets Receive: G Russell Westbrook, C Daniel Gafford, 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – LAL)
Washington Wizards Receive: G John Wall, F Talen Horton-Tucker, C Alperen Sengun, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL)
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Bradley Beal, G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

This deal leads to a reunion for every team involved. Yet, each one is only incidental.

The Rockets are not doing this deal to land Russell Westbrook. They’re cutting ties with Sengun early. They’ll only do this deal if they draft Paolo Banchero. His defensive fit with Sengun is shakey on paper. This trade finds the Rockets getting ahead of the problem. Gafford projects as a much cleaner fit.

Meanwhile, the Wizards aren’t necessarily eager to welcome the aging John Wall back either. They’re in this deal to land two young players with star potential in Sengun and Horton-Tucker.

Finally, the Lakers will be happy to reunite with Caldwell-Pope. He brings the type of 3-and-D play that every contender needs. Still, the main appeal in this package is quite obviously the acquisition of Beal.
