How This Trade Impacts Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks had a wonderful first season under their new regime of general manager Nico Harrison and head coach Jason Kidd. They made it to the Western Conference Finals, where the Golden State Warriors proved to be too much to overcome.
Looking to build off of that, Dallas is reportedly in the market for a big acquisition. If they can retain Jalen Brunson and swing a blockbuster trade, they could be set up to battle it out in the West once again.
This would be a big decision for Dallas, as they haven’t been a luxury tax team in over a decade. But, if you want to win a title, you will have to pay for it and the Mavericks could have a championship-caliber roster with Zach LaVine in the mix.
Adding LaVine to Luka Doncic would be one of the most explosive duos in the NBA. When you add in a third scoring option such as Brunson, the Mavericks will have a very difficult offense to slow down.

Defense could present a problem, as Reggie Bullock was one of their better perimeter defenders. Maxi Kleber was also key in their postseason stretch. However, they are a team that veterans ring chasing will now consider, as they can fill the gaps with them.
Kidd also did a great job turning things around on that end of the court. He got them to buy in once and should be able to do it again, especially if it could result in an NBA Championship coming back to Dallas.
