Brooklyn Nets Receive: G Kyle Lowry, G Tyler Herro, G Gabe Vincent, 2023 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA)
Miami Heat Receive: F Kevin Durant
There are reasons both sides might prefer this deal. On the Miami Heat’s end, they get to keep Bam Adebayo. A trio of him, Jimmy Butler and Durant make for one of the most talented and well-rounded “Big 3s” in the entire NBA.
As far as win-now moves go, this is an obvious one to make. It would make the Heat instant title favorites.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets don’t have to worry about the fit between Adebayo and Simmons here. They’ll be restructuring around Simmons and Herro.
Not to mention whatever they receive for Kyrie Irving. He may be unreliable and unpredictable, but he’s also undeniably one of the most talented players in the sport of basketball. The Nets should find some team willing to surrender some value for him, getting their rebuild off on the right foot.
