2. Jerami Grant

Out of the three players on this list, this is the one that falls most into being a dream target. The only time that Jerami Grant may be in the purple and gold is while they are having a nice sleep and they are dreaming of all the players that would fit well on the team.

Grant would be an excellent addition to the Los Angeles Lakers lineup. He provides the two-way production that they are looking for as a versatile forward. On offense, he has shown that he can be a go-to scorer, taking pressure off of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

With the Pistons, he showed he can carry the scoring load and he already has experience being an elite complementary player.

Defensively, Jerami Grant would help immensely. His presence would mean that James doesn’t have to defend the top option on the wing, something that shouldn’t be expected of him at this stage of his career. Grant can defend virtually every position, athletic enough to stick on the perimeter and with enough size to hang on the interior.

The price to acquire him, however, is something that could be an issue for the Lakers. They are lacking draft capital for the Pistons to benefit from any time soon, as a 2027 first-round pick is the next one they can offer.

Unless the Pistons are willing to take on Westbrook’s contract, allowing them to send out unwanted money of their own along with Jerami Grant, there may not be a package to get Detroit to bite as Grant will be sought after.
