2. San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs are one of the few teams this offseason that will have cap space to spend in free agency. They already have their sights set on a few targets, as they have been linked to Zach LaVine and reportedly have some people within their front office that are fans of Collin Sexton.
But, if the Spurs catch wind that those players may not be attainable, they could look to use that cap space to take on contracts other teams are trying to shed while attaching draft capital to them. The Spurs already has three first-round picks in this year’s draft, but they could be open to adding more, improving their assets to swing a trade.
That is something the New York Knicks could try and take advantage of. Would the Spurs be willing to take on a player with a longer contract such as Evan Fournier or Julius Randle, along with the 11th pick, for their non-lottery selections?
Or, if a prospect slips down the board that the Knicks like that they don’t believe will be available at No. 11, would the San Antonio Spurs talk trade for the 9th overall pick? There are a lot of directions that the Spurs should go and New York should have an open dialogue with them.

The current regime has shown they can find rotation players later in the first round, so they should be open to moving down in the draft should the opportunity arise.
