Charlotte Hornets Receive: C Christian Wood
Golden State Warriors Receive: C Mason Plumlee, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 15 – CHA)
Houston Rockets Receive: C James Wiseman
This deal finds all three sides involved swapping big men. Each is landing a center that’s better suited to their current needs.
Mason Plumlee is a seasoned veteran. He’ll be more productive over the next season or two than Wiseman. With this deal, the Warriors improve their win-now outlook while also acquiring a first-round selection.
Meanwhile, the Hornets get a big man more suited for starting duties. Wood may not do their defense any favors, but alongside LaMelo Ball, his ability to both roll and pop out of the pick-and-roll should lead to explosive offense. For a Hornets team vying to enter the postseason, that ought to suffice.
We anticipate that Warriors fans will not love these proposals. That’s understandable. Selecting a player with the second overall pick only to trade him for pennies-on-the-dollar is never ideal.

On the other hand, if he stays buried on the Warriors’ bench, they may be lucky to get pennies for him before long.
