For fans of the New Orleans Pelicans, Saturday’s Game 3 was nothing short of disastrous. they disintegrated in their first-round NBA playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, suffering a crushing 106-85 defeat that put them at a daunting 3-0 series disadvantage.

But the insult to injury came post-game, particularly for those Pelicans supporters residing in Galveston, Texas. The situation took a turn for the worse following their team’s poor performance.

During TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA,’ Charles Barkley, the legendary forward and now an analyst, did not mince words about the Pelicans’ lackluster play.

Barkley’s critique was harsh, suggesting that the team’s performance merited a demoralizing trip to Galveston rather than a more typical off-season getaway to Cancun.

“We’re not even gonna send them to Cancun. We’re gonna send them to Galveston with that dirty a– water,” Barkley declared, poking fun at the Gulf of Mexico’s beachfront. “Y’all quit. Drive your a– down to Galveston.”

The commentary caused a wave of laughter across the studio, with even Shaquille O’Neal, another Hall of Famer and co-panelist, and the show’s crew unable to contain their amusement.

“We’re not even giving them a plane ticket to the beach. We’re sending their a– to Galveston, Texas,” Barkley reiterated. “Right where that dirty water washed up on the beach. They can’t even get in the water.”
