It would be hard to argue that James Wiseman has lived up to the expectations the Golden State Warriors set for him when they selected him with the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

At the same time, it would be equally hard to argue it’s impacted the organization. After all, the Warriors are en route to the NBA Finals.

It’s a place they’ve grown comfortable in. The Warriors have become synonymous with success. Whether or not they overcome the Boston Celtics in the Finals, there won’t be much pressure on this team to make drastic changes heading into 2022-23.

At the same time, upgrades are always preferable. It’s hard to imagine that Wiseman will be a long-term member of this team. They just got to the Finals without him.
